MTEC Roll of Honour

Congratulations to all of our MTEC graduates but a special acknowledgement must go out to all of those who have awarded the MTEC Roll of Honour.

The MTEC programme is a challenging programme made even more so by the very fact that each and every student is working full-time. Thus, to be able to achieve very high marks shows determination and commitment. The directorate and all the lecturers involved in delivering MTEC have set very high standards and as such it is especially pleasing when a student achieves an average mark of 75% or above.

Congratulations to our MTEC Roll of Honour Students:

Employer/Industry Testimonials

As well as our students, employers within the Marine Industry also benefit greatly from the MTEC programme as it allows their graduate employees to study at a postgraduate level while being in full-time employment. The programme provides students with advanced technical and managerial techniques that can be applied to the Marine Industry. Employers recognise that this will help their graduate employees to progress in their careers and improve company competitiveness.

BAE Systems Maritime - Submarines have been sponsoring Engineering staff on the MTEC programme since its inception in 2003.  We find the modular approach to the programme ideally suited to our needs, developing Masters qualified Engineers, in a variety of marine specialist disciplines, on a part time basis, whilst still being fully employed within the business.  The ability to take the individual modules as Continued Professional Development, without embarking on the full Masters Programme, has on occasion also been an advantage to some of our Engineers.

We have nine Engineers that have graduated through MTEC, and currently have 14 Engineers enhancing their academic development on the programme.  BAE Systems Maritime - Submarines support this programme, as it is an ideal vehicle for our young Engineers to achieve their Chartered Engineer status; an independent accreditation that we value greatly.

BAE Systems Maritime - Submarines would recommend the MTEC Programme to any marine related business wishing to develop its Engineering staff.

Brian Hetherington, Head of Engineering Capability
